PeopleKeep’s group coverage health reimbursement arrangement administration software can help your employees with expenses that aren’t fully paid for by the group plan
If you offer a traditional group health insurance plan to your employees, or hope to in the future, there’s a special type of health reimbursement arrangement that’s specifically designed for employers like you. With the group coverage HRA (GCHRA), employers can offer both group health insurance and an HRA together to cover the costs not fully covered by the group health insurance plan. You can use a GCHRA to help employees pay for deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses, just as one example of the usefulness of this type of HRA.
“We were looking to reduce overall costs for healthcare while still offering our employees a generous benefit package…. PeopleKeep is extremely affordable.”
Manager of Accounting, Foster Holdings, Inc.
Using a GCHRA, employers are able to set their own reimbursement allowance for employees to use each month toward out-of-pocket expenses, further supplementing their group health plan.
Offering a GCHRA helps make your group health insurance plan even more attractive. Aside from salary, health benefits are the top consideration applicants make before accepting a job offer.
With a GCHRA, employers are able to set unique rules for minimum deductibles, cost sharing, and an explanation of benefits (EOB) to further control costs.
Employees can use their GCHRA as a supplement to pay for the costs they need to pay out of pocket before meeting their deductible, or to pay for the things the group plan doesn’t fully cover.
From setting up employee classes to choosing how much you want to reimburse each month, your GCHRA is completely customizable to how it will work best for you and your employees.
Administering a GCHRA with PeopleKeep only takes a few minutes every month, thanks to our easy-to-use dashboards. You can see who’s using the benefit, check reimbursement deadlines, and even reimburse employees through payroll.
By signing up for a GCHRA with PeopleKeep, we automatically generate all the legal plan documents you need. We’ll even keep tabs on your benefit to make sure it stays compliant with IRS, HIPAA, and ERISA regulations.

To get started, you’ll create a PeopleKeep account for your organization. Here you’ll fill in basic information about your organization, like the address, phone number, and tax-filing status.
We use the information you enter in this setup process to instantly set up your legal plan documents, which are part of what makes your ICHRA plan compliant with all applicable federal regulations.
You’ll also include some basic contact information about you. As the benefits administrator, you’ll be able to add and manage benefits, users, and billing information. You’re welcome to add more admins later to help manage your account.
Now you’re ready to design your benefit so it’s tailored to you and your employees’ needs. This step includes choosing a monthly allowance amount, deciding if you want employees with different family statuses or classes to receive different allowance amounts, and choosing when you want your benefit to start.
Next, you’ll add the names and emails of each of the employees you want to participate in your GCHRA benefit. With a GCHRA, employees must also be participating in your group health insurance plan in order to be eligible for a GCHRA allowance.
When you’re ready, the last step is for you to sign your benefit documentation to officially launch your GCHRA. Once it’s signed, we’ll automatically invite your employees to start using it on the start date you chose!
