We are delighted to announce that Sarah Barnes has joined the Zane Benefits Leadership Team as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Sarah comes to Zane Benefits with a wealth of operating experience.
Most recently, Sarah was a member of the leadership team and ran marketing at a privately-held, fast-growing consumer goods company called Daily Bread LLC. Previously, she spent 4-plus years at Overstock.com as a member of the Executive Management Team running online marketing. Sarah began her career in commercial banking and investment banking at Barclays Bank PLC, Salomon Brothers and Salomon Smith Barney before joining The Mayfair Group as a Managing Director in private equity. She also spent several years working in asset management at Leucadia National Corporation overseeing strategic investments and portfolio companies. She holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
According to recent studies, up to 60% of businesses will cancel their group health plans from 2014 to 2016. This massive shift away from standard group health insurance coverage will present a sizeable opportunity for an estimated 2-plus million small businesses over the next two years. The vast majority of these businesses are expected to continue to offer health benefits in order to recruit and retain employees; but in order to provide more choice and flexibility to their employees, most of these businesses will chose a “pure” defined contribution solution (like ZaneHealth) to reimburse employees for a significant portion of their individual health plans.
